Next June through August, 2026, an inspiring exhibit from Reggio Emilia, Mosaics, Marks, Words, Materials, will be at The Winooski Educational Center in Vermont. Mosaics, Marks, Words, Materials is an exhibition-atelier that brings together children’s works and processes on the theme of drawing and narrative in Reggio Emilia’s municipal infant-toddler centers and preschools. The intent is to better understand the poetic fabric weaving together drawings and words, and convey the cognitive and expressive richness children generate. (from Reggio Children)
The project emphasizes how these elements are interwoven, creating a rich "mosaic" of expression, and provides an immersive space where children and adults can actively explore many different curated tools and materials to deepen their understanding and appreciation of creative processes.

Reggio Inspired Vermont Education Team, (RIVET), is bringing this exhibit to Vermont in collaboration with North American Reggio Emilia Alliance (NAREA). They are planning many professional development opportunities including a NAREA summer conference.
A fall conference, “Celebrating the 100 Languages of Children, Teachers, and Trees, Oh My,” to be held at Camp Meade in Middlesex, Vermont on September 13th is now open for registration. Go HERE to register.
This conference will offer many workshops including drawing, print-making, paper-making, singing, mixed media, and clay. The funds raised from the conference will go directly to support bringing this beautiful exhibit to Vermont.
I will offer a drawing workshop, and my dear friend, Rena Diana will offer a workshop in Gelli printing. This will be a day of celebration and learning, collaboration and community. Please join us! And plan to stay tuned for all of the events and opportunities that will be offered while the exhibit is in our state.
Hope to see you there!
